As the new year continues to unfold and we see what lies ahead WisCOSH wants to remind you that we’re here for you. As we mentioned last year WisCOSH, in collaboration with ConnectiCOSH, is offering a free workshop on personal protective equipment (PPE). Currently there is a workshop scheduled for 5pm Wednesday, January 29 at the WisCOSH office. If you are would rather not wait that long please contact us to set up a workshop at a location and time convenient to you. Do you need to have the workshop on a weekend day or evening? Or earlier on a weekday? Or later at night? WisCOSH has you covered. This workshop is available in English, Spanish and bilingually.
What will be covered in this workshop? We will discuss workplace hazards and the hierarchy of controls which is used to protect workers from injury, illness and death. Workers have a legal right to have work and a place of work free from recognized hazards.
Why is this important to you? Because you deserve to go home at the end of shift as healthy as when you arrived to work. Because although there are five tiers to the hierarchy of controls most employers only use one of them: PPE. Therefore it’s important that you understand the roll of ppe, what OSHA says about ppe (what standards apply) and who is required to pay for it. And more!
All workshops include reference materials and a Certificate of Completion.
Make your plans now to join us or contact us to schedule a workshop that fits your schedule.
